Hill Cottage Holidays Reviews
I rarely write reviews, unless they're truly warranted because something exceeds expectations or someone goes above and beyond. Well.. it's safe to say that is absolutely the case here. I stayed at Hill Cottage Holidays with my partner and our little one for a few nights to celebrate Fathers Day and have a lovely break and reset. That, it certainly was. First thing to sing praises about is Simone and her wonderful communication and friendly manner, going above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. Her enthiasm for this little nook she's created was lovely. It's a special place that is nested amongst a private woodland space adjacent yet away from their home, so you feel the privacy. The surrounding area with pathways and hammocks, fields beyong the tree lines, it all creates such a tranquil space, it was glorious reading my book to some birdsong. The communal area with BBQ, firepits and benches is fantastic, as are their eco toilets and showers, this was like a true glamping experience compared to what we are used to as wildcampers over the years living in our rooftent! We played bowls and badmington from the included toy boxes for families, Aggy the trailer was a quirky little kitchen space that we loved too. Just make sure you DUCK! Even the cutlery, utensils, plates, mugs and cookware were amazing, the cast iron skillets and pans were incredible to use in open fires with the pits, as well as the iron tea pots, such a cool touch with the lighting in the evening. We opted for the £20 hamper, which was well worth it, everything is so well presented and the quality of organic goods is great. (Yorkshire Tea FTW though). Last but not least, the bell tents themselves were incredibly roomy and spacious. We all had a glorious nights sleep, super comfy and the stove was great to cook some bacon and fresh eggs from Simone & Jason's chickens! Brekkie done right. Simone also let my little dude feed the chickens, again, no need but a lot of love for their guests. My partner had a reflexology session too that she really enjoyed, Simone was so flexible with timings etc, it was perfect. Last but not least, we're all impressed with how well maintained the entire campsite was given the nature of tents being under trees, the upkeep of the land etc. Simone & Jason have created something phenomenal here that we are thinking of hosting our post-wedding celebration at this very place, perfect amount of tents for our tight knit family and friends environment, cosy but private. Thanks again! Matt, Dani & Marty
We spent two days here with a mate and our kids. The space is perfect for kids to find their own space and also to enjoy time together. Simone is a lovely host and was more than accommodating. The tents were amazing and extremely comfortable, along with the hot showers, toilets and kitchen amenities. It was also amazing having the place to ourselves. Our only regret was not staying longer. We will definitely go back again. Cheers, Simon.
We booked a weekend break to celebrate my partners 60th Birthday. From the moment we arrived to when we left the experience was exciting, peaceful and so much fun! The showers and toilet facilities were clean and a welcome treat. Cooking on the open fire pit and sitting under the stars was so relaxing. The Bell tent was spacious and warm, what could be better than to cuddle in your duvet with the fire flickering whilst you fall asleep! Having fresh produce including eggs was a treat. The chickens kept us company and came to greet us in the morning. Seriously, this place has a magic charm to it, nature, great pubs and fresh home grown produce. Staying here is doing your little bit for the environment but it gives back so much more. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed and throughly spoilt by our hosts Simone and Jason. We will definitely return and utilise the great activities they have planned for next year. This is both a family friendly and romantic couples place to stay. The beauty is you can hire the whole site for a special occasion or hold a works yoga event etc. We feel so lucky to have this so close to Norwich. Playground The woods are a giant playground, great for hide and seek or an Easter egg hunt. Just bring your imagination! Toilets Astounding, clean and fresh! Picnic area Plenty of room, under cover. Lovely cooking facilities.
We had such a lovely weekend! The space was super well equipped with everything we needed including outdoor games, firewood, multiple chillaxing and cooking areas - charging ports also accessible - and the bathroom facilities were clean and well kept. We booked 2 yurts for a group of 8 and felt more than comfortable in the space - all beds had comfy bedding pillows duvets (everything you needed!) the hosts were more than welcoming, would highly recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing weekend away - especially perfect for mid-larger groups!
Wonderful Glamping experience. The host was incredibly friendly and you could really tell that a lot of thought had gone into all the small details. The views were beautiful and the whole place had a really peaceful vibe. The tents were clean, comfortable, and well set up. There were plenty of outdoor games and things to do, which made it even more fun for our group. It did get a bit cold when it rained at night, but the wood burner kept us warm and cosy. The cooking and BBQ facilities were excellent — everything we needed was there. The shower was warm and worked perfectly. We also had fresh eggs for breakfast from their free-range chickens — you could actually see them wandering around, which made it even more special 😄 Overall, a really enjoyable experience and we’d definitely come back! 👍
